General Function
Under the supervision of the ReStore Director, the Volunteer Coordinator will be committed to the philosophies of Habitat, be responsible for representing the ReStore in a professional way, and exemplify the ideals of Habitat for Humanity in working to fulfill the ReStore’s Mission to Habitat of Durham and Orange Counties.

Qualifications
Be committed to the philosophies of Habitat. The Volunteer Coordinator must demonstrate a willingness and ability to work well with all types of people while fostering good relationships with volunteers, customers, and staff. The position of Volunteer Coordinator must be filled by someone who works well with others, can lead, is fun and outgoing, and can handle pressure well. The ability to work in a “Windows” computer environment is required.

Principal Activities
The following is a list of responsibilities, and duties:
• Meet with store director on a regular basis to receive objectives and goals for volunteers.
• Meet with the two Habitat affiliate volunteer coordinators regularly to review objectives and goals.
• Lead volunteers to accomplish objectives and goals. Volunteers include sorters/pricers, cashiers, admistrative helpers, and those that help with overall appearance of the store.
• Handle issues brought up by volunteers
• Help design and maintain the store displays
• Recruit new volunteers
• Organize volunteer recognition events.
• Create and maintain volunteer data base.
• May also be needed to support existing staff by helping with pricing of large items, running register, and helping with customer service.
